Thunderbirds Are Definitely GO!

Dear backers,

We held our fourth and final screening for backers and crew last night of the new Thunderbirds episodes. Brian Johnson was in attendance and gave us the big thumbs up!

Paul Simpson from Sci-Fi bulletin also came to the screening and today gave us our first official review which you can read here: http://scifibulletin.com/uk-tv/thunderbirds-1965-review/

Finally a bit of silliness. Justin T. Lee - who is largely responsible for the look of TB65 - has worked hard to ensure that the image quality of our new episodes matches the best looking versions of the originals. However, as quite a few people have yet to see Thunderbirds in HD they're under the misapprehension that our episodes look too good. So for those feeling nostalgic for the days of the 80s and Channel 5 video here's what one of our episodes might have looked like on home video 30 years ago:

We'll be in touch again later this week with an update on the rewards. More items are expected back from manufacture in the next few days.

FAB!

Thunderbirds 1965 - Documentary
over 8 years ago – Fri, Mar 04, 2016 at 11:38:03 PM

Hello everyone!

We're now at the point where most of the rewards have been sent off for manufacture - and we have to sit back and wait for it all to come in, one item at a time. It's a long - and sometimes arduous! - task, but the end is gradually coming into sight. We thank everyone for their patience.

In the meantime - as another thing to whet you appetite - we thought you might be interested in seeing the documentary, 'Thunderbirds 1965' - which tells the story of bringing back Classic Thunderbirds and the process of creating a Supermarionation show. We hope that this will not only give you an insight into our work since last July, but also serve as a permanent record of a journey that you've been very much a part of.

Although we've tried to keep the documentary low on spoilers, obviously it does feature clips from the finished episodes and lots of behind the scenes material. So if you absolutely cannot abide any kind of spoiler whatsoever, it might be best to wait until your disc arrives. The documentary will feature on the disc rest assured!

For everyone else, you can watch 'Thunderbirds 1965' here:

Hello!

In just a few weeks time, at the end of March, the Thunderbirds 1965 studio will close once and for all. Although the chance to see the filming - and be part of the creation of the new episodes - has passed, many of the puppets, props and models are still in situ. Before we leave the studio, and the original complex of buildings on Stirling Road, Slough is demolished, we'd like to share a bit of the magic with Thunderbirds fans.

We are opening the studio on the weekend of the 12th and 13th of March. Slots are for two hours and - as the studio is very small and cannot accommodate large groups of people - tickets are extremely limited.

A number of people have asked us about the preservation of models, sets and props for Thunderbirds 1965. Under our original budget, this sadly isn't possible. However, funds raised from opening the studio will be used to store as much as possible for future displays.

Tickets can be booked at the link below:

See you soon!

More rewards!
over 8 years ago – Thu, Feb 25, 2016 at 10:32:16 PM

Hello backers!

In addition to the CD replicas of the mini-albums that were delivered last week, we have now taken delivery of the wall-portrait postcards and the lobby cards which we're very happy with (especially having rejected the first set of postcards produced by another printer).

We've also taken delivery of the test pressings of the vinyls which will soon be inspected by Mark Ayres for approval before we push the button on having all the records manufactured.

Mark is also currently doing the sound mix on our documentary about the revival of Classic Thunderbirds whilst Justin T. Lee works his magic on the picture.

Finally, and most importantly, we're still working on the authoring and production of the main reward - the discs themselves! These are fairly complex to put together and need thorough testing before we send them to manufacture. However, the end is gradually coming into sight. We hope to get all the outstanding rewards during the rest of February / March. At that point we'll be able to confirm when the posting will commence.

During March, before the final close of the studio in approximately five weeks time, we will be opening the place to visitors. The chance to see the filming and be part of the action - as afforded to backers who pledged for set visits - has passed. However, given that a project like this might never happen again we wanted to give more people the opportunity to see the studio, puppets and props. We will be releasing details for this tomorrow. Unfortunately, due to the small size of the studio we can confirm that tickets will be very limited so please keep an eye on your inbox if you wish to visit.

Finally, our last screening for backers (those that were unable to attend the January 4th screening in London) will take place on March 5th. If you are eligible to attend this gathering we will have sent you an e-mail - so please check your inboxes. If you would like to attend this preview screening we can make places available (for the relevant reward level fee).

Until tomorrow!

The CD Replicas are in!
almost 9 years ago – Thu, Feb 18, 2016 at 09:59:38 PM

Hello backers!

The main adventure might be over, but getting the rewards in - the culmination of so much work - is exciting in itself. As you're all as much a part of this journey as we are, we wanted to share these pictures with you of our CD replicas of the mini-albums which have just this moment arrived. They're beautifully produced - and thanks to new masters prepared by audio-genius Mark Ayres - sound great!

The picture shows the three replica albums, plus a special limited edition promotional disc that was produced for contractual reasons. The test pressings of the vinyl replicas arrive next week!
