The time has come – The Thunderbirds 1965 Backerkit will close down in two days time at the end of Thursday 26th November

If you haven't already responded to your survey, please do so. Backerkit is the best way for you to provide us with postage information, confirm your selections as well as allowing you to pledge for additional rewards should you wish to double up on DVDs, Blu-Rays, and other items we offered during our initial Kickstarter campaign.

And now we're back to filming - David Elliott is in the director's chair after 49 years on The Stately Homes Robberies!

Backerkit Close Down
about 9 years ago – Thu, Nov 19, 2015 at 08:22:38 PM

Hello backers!

Well, it's finally coming to the moment that we'll be sad to see: as The Stately Homes Robberies continues through production we're gearing up to put the puppets and models back into storage and close the Thunderbirds 1965 studio. Following the shut down of the studio we'll begin the packaging of the Kickstarter rewards.

In order that we'll be able to fulfil all the rewards we will need to finalise Backerkit. We will be doing this at the end of November and so we ask that everyone confirms their order to ensure that you are definitely going to receive the right items. If you wish to make additional purchases then this is your very last chance. Once the Backerkit has been closed there will be no further chances to acquire any Thunderbirds 1965 rewards.

For those awaiting screening details and set tour dates, we will be in touch very soon.

Once again we'd like to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who backed the project. For many years people have said that it wouldn't be possible to ressurect Supermarionation and Classic Thunderbirds - but with your help we've been able to prove them wrong. It's been an extraordinary journey, and we hope that you all enjoy the final products.

David Elliott Back in Action!
about 9 years ago – Tue, Nov 17, 2015 at 07:54:16 PM

Filming has wrapped on Introducing Thunderbirds - the second episode of our Classic Thunderbirds revival! Director Justin T. Lee has vacated the director's chair and taken the episode into post production, and David Elliott has begun work on his first episode of Thunderbirds in 49 years!

It's a sad time for us here as we start on this final episode - it's been such a privilege not just to bring the puppets out of retirement, but to resurrect for a brief time a form of filmmaking that is practically dead. We'd love to see the puppets and models continue, but for the moment it seems that all good things must indeed come to an end.

We've really enjoyed meeting so many of our backers recently at our various set tours. We've been pleased not only to be able to say thank you to some of the people who made it possible, but to repay their initial leap of faith in us by showing them around a ressurrected part of their childhoods.

Backerkit will be closing soon, so please remember to confirm your orders and ensure that you'll be getting all the items you wish. We've also opened up certain items to people who didn't back the project initially, but this window of opportunity will soon be closing. We'll be back in touch soon - but first we need to get Stately Homes Robberies up and running. FAB!

Backerkit Orders
about 9 years ago – Sat, Nov 14, 2015 at 08:32:15 PM

As episode 2 draws to its conclusion, our third and final episode prepares to go into full production. In a few weeks, the TB1965 studio will be empty and our brief mini-revival will be over. It's been an incredible roller coaster of a journey, and we're hugely grateful to everyone who has helped make it work.

Ever since the deadline of our Kickstarter campaign, scores of Thunderbirds fans from across the globe have got in touch with us to tell us that they had no idea about the project and that they are devastated to have missed out on supporting our new anniversary episodes. Over the course of production, we have met many of our existing backers who pledged for set visits and the overwhelming message that we have received is that they want to see these episodes seen by as many people as possible.

Although we have always said that we'd love to see these episodes go on to enjoy a life beyond the Kickstarter campaign, at the time of writing there are no plans for this to happen and it remains that the only way to see these episodes is to back the project.

To this end, we have made the decision to make certain Kickstarter rewards available to non-backers for a limited time only via a Backerkit Order page. In recognition of the fact that our Kickstarter backers were to first to seek out and support us, prices for non Kickstarter orders will be slightly higher than those listed during our initial campaign.

If you know anybody who missed out and who might be interested in getting hold of these 50th anniversary episodes, you can direct them to Backerkit, where our order site will be open until the end of Tuesday 17th November.

Any funds raised during this window will be ploughed directly into production. Filmmaking is an expensive business and although we're very grateful for the budget we were able to raise thanks to our Kickstarter backers, there are always ways to make use of additional funding - especially at this point of the production when we reliant on a lot of good-will and love towards the original series.

With the help of the pre-order page, we hope to go that extra mile to make our final episodes and rewards even better than we had hoped.
